摘要: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a regulator of angiogenesis and mediator sex steroid-induced cell differentiation. We aimed to investigate if VEGF gene 5′-UTR −460 polymorphism could be used as markers susceptibility in leiomyoma. Women were divided into two groups: (1) leiomyoma (n=159); (2) nonleiomyoma groups (n=131). detected by polymerase chain reaction BstUI restriction enzyme analysis. Genotypes allelic frequencies between both compared. noted that the proportions different polymorphisms significantly different. Proportions cuttable (C) homozygote/heterozygote/uncuttable (T) homozygote for were: 0/32/68% 0/63/37%. Higher percentage T allele presented population. C/T alleles 16/84% 32/68%. concluded homozygotes are associated with higher risk development. Heterozygotes C related lower formation. likely contributes pathogenesis
