Influence of the direction of motion on the inelastic interaction between electrons and solid surfaces

摘要: Theoretical derivations of the inelastic differential inverse mean free path (DIMFP) and (IMFP) for electrons crossing solid surfaces were made different angles electron distances relative to point at surface. Individual contributions from volume surface excitations separated analyzed traveling inside outside solid. Extended Drude dielectric functions employed calculate DIMFP IMFP incident into escaping Cu. It was found that moving approximately independent angle position due compensation excitations. For deep solid, reduced values in an infinite As vacuum, became greater glancing since more probable. The excitation parameter (SEP) vacuum showed angular dependence. SEP larger than attractive force exerted by induced charges. calculated follow a simple expression.
