Nonparasitic solitary giant hepatic cyst causing obstructive jaundice was successfully treated with monoethanolamine oleate.

摘要: A 77-year-old man hospitalized for epigastric pain showed jaundice of the skin and conjunctivae. Laboratory tests revealed elevated hepatobiliary enzymes inflammatory markers, imaging studies demonstrated a 12 cm hepatic cyst compressing common bile duct. The diagnosis was giant causing obstructive jaundice. Cyst drainage sclerotherapy with 5% monoethanolamine oleate performed twice, resulting in almost complete disappearance cyst. Obstructive due to cyst, as seen this case, is relatively rare report includes review other similar cases Japan.
