摘要: Background: The aging prison population in the United States presents a significant public health challenge with high rates of trauma and mental issues that correctional system alone is ill-prepared to address. purpose this study was examine relationship age, objective, subjective measures stressful life events post-traumatic stress symptoms among older adults prison. Methods: Data were gathered from 334 prisoners (aged 55 ) housed New Jersey Department Corrections, as September 2010. An anonymous self-report, self-administered survey mailed total 1,000 aged years older. Objective measured using Life Stressors Checklist-Revised (LSC-R), Civilian Version Post-traumatic Stress Scale. Findings: Results path analysis revealed past year impressions traumatic had positive current symptoms. Age found have inverse events. That is, younger participants reported higher levels cumulative ratings being bothered by these Implications: These findings significance for interdisciplinary/interprofessional practice appropriate institutional community care, including reentry planning criminal justice system.
