摘要: Summary Objectives Pneumonia is a leading cause of death worldwide, but there are limited population-based data on the burden disease. We sought to determine incidence pneumonia in rural Thailand. Methods Active, surveillance for hospitalized, radiologically-confirmed was conducted two Thai provinces. Incidence rates were calculated using census data. Residents each province surveyed regarding healthcare utilization pneumonia. Survey results used adjust hospitalized incomplete use hospital care. Results In Nakhon Phanom, active identified 1457 radiologically-confirmed, cases during period September 2003–August 2004. The unadjusted 201/100 000/year; adjusted radiography, 485/100 000/year. highest persons aged Conclusions Thailand high. Ongoing can guide and evaluate prevention strategies.
