摘要: PURPOSE OF REVIEW A circadian rhythm exists for parathyroid hormone, with a biphasic pattern showing late afternoon/early evening rise and fall broader, longer-lasting increase evening/early morning reaching nadir mid-morning. This review explores the characteristics of rhythm, factors regulating its role in bone metabolism. RECENT FINDINGS Gender differences exist hormone. Ageing women alters response to calcium infusion, increasing suppression hormone secretion decreasing resorption. There is no difference between young elderly men infusion. Loop diuretic ingestion reflecting loop effects on phosphate Adult growth deficiency end organ sensitivity, but retained. Growth replacement therapy enhances increases responses. Exogenous (1-34) (1-84) administered by daily injection has an anabolic effect bone, mass fracture. Calcilytic drugs stimulate calcimimetic suppress have been used treat disorders SUMMARY The nature confirmed many publications. underlying endogenous. Life style nutritional intake modulate secretion. Direct association resorption formation tentative. It suggested that acute changes these rhythms little resorption, longer-term manipulation cell function. adult activity, indicating may therapeutic potential osteoporosis. Manipulation endogenous using timed supplements or calcilytic molecules, offers novel approach osteoporosis treatment.
