摘要: Isolation of highly tumorigenic stem-like cells from human glioblastoma specimens and cell lines has been focusing on their neural stem properties or capacity to efflux fluorescent dyes. Here, we report that, under standard culture conditions, the U87MG line display a predominant mesenchymal phenotype share some in vitro cells. Moreover, these were capable forming tumors immunocompetent rats. Infiltrative intracranial could be detected 15 30 days post-stereotaxic injection within motor cortex. Tumors comprised by pleomorphic mitotically active displayed necrotic hemorrhagic foci, which are common features glioblastomas. This rather unexpected vivo tumorigenesis absence immune suppression more closely mimics physiological milieu encountered tumor explored as xenograft orthotopic model glioblastomas address new therapeutic approaches, particularly those involving effector mechanisms.
