摘要: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) vaccine, Improvac™ (Pfizer Ltd), in suppressing aggressive and sexual behaviour male pigs. One hundred thirty-six pigs were assigned three treatments: entire (n = 64), immunocastration against GnRH 48) surgical castration 24). Surgical performed before age 1 week. Vaccination comprised two injections: first injection given 8 11 weeks slaughter second 4 slaughter. After injection, immunocastrated showed less non-violent social behaviours than same age. Mounting reduced low level as observed surgically castrated pigs, more without skin lesions compared with Pigs that received only week observation day did not differ significantly from those 3 day.
