摘要: Membrane contact sites (MCSs) are subcellular regions where the membranes of distinct organelles come into close apposition. These specialized areas cell, which involved in inter-organelle metabolite exchange, scaffolded by specific complexes. STARD3 [StAR (steroidogenic acute regulatory protein)-related lipid transfer domain-3] and its paralogue STARD3NL (STARD3 N-terminal like) formation contacts between late-endosomes endoplasmic reticulum (ER). The protein (LTP) STARD3NL, both anchored on limiting membrane late endosomes (LEs), interact with ER-anchored VAP [VAMP (vesicle-associated protein)-associated protein] (VAP-A VAP-B) proteins. This direct interaction allows ER–endosome formation. or STARD3NL-mediated contacts, affect endosome dynamics, believed to be cholesterol transport.
