摘要: Transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) was initially identified based on its ability to induce the anchorage-independent of normal rat kidney fibroblasts (Roberts et al. 1981). It is now apparent that TGFβ founding member a superfamily and differentiation factors includes almost 40 members from animals as diverse C. elegans, Drosophila humans. The generally subdivided into three groups, prototypic TGFβs, activins bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs). However, with new constantly being these divisions are becoming increasingly difficult define. Nevertheless, study biology this large family has provided us some interesting surprising insights how can regulate staggering array developmental physiological processes. In addition, major advances have been made in elucidating mechanism signaling by TGFβ-like factors. review we will focus recent developments our understanding multiple roles play controlling inductive interactions patterning during development.
