摘要: Abstract Many communities in South Africa struggle to access reliable and adequate quantities of potable water for diverse requirements. This is against the backdrop decreasing freshwater availability increasing demands. Currently, interest reuse wastewater non-drinking requirements increasing. paper therefore provides an overview African resources situation 1 generation order put need into perspective. Potential broader implementation parameters influencing based on local attitudes experience were discussed with recommendations facilitate reuse. concludes that significant potential exists implementing large applications (e.g. landscape irrigation industrial processes) arid areas especially Western Cape Province. Parameters highlighted from influence addition aridity include distance source, retrofitting versus new installations, quantity reuse, tariffs, source quality, public health, willingness, trust knowledge, regulations guidelines Prior implementation, it recommended these be addressed.
