Phenolic profiles and chemical- or cell-based antioxidant activities of four star fruit (Averrhoa carambola) cultivars

摘要: The objectives of this study were to investigate the phytochemical profiles and antioxidant activities four cultivars star fruit (Averrhoa carambola). free, bound total phenolic contents 162.5–286.8, 6.4–19.7, 174.5–293.1 mg gallic acid equivalents per 100 g fresh weight (FW), respectively. flavonoid 100.7–234.0, 1.1–7.8, 104.4–235.1 catechin FW, cellular activity (CAA) values with or without a phosphate buffered saline wash protocol ranged from 25.80 63.29 32.41 68.96 μmol quercetin Taiguo cultivar had highest content among tested. High performance liquid chromatography analysis revealed presence acid, syringic p-coumaric epicatechin, isoquercetin procyanidin B2 in Averrhoa carambola. type influenced profile extractability, activity, ultimately health-promoting potential fruit.
