摘要: BACKGROUND Cancer cells have a relatively high telomerase activity and lower p53 protein expression than normal cells, so that cancer the ability to continue proliferate do not undergo apoptosis. One of treatments is chemotherapy using bioactive ingredients from synthesis or isolation natural materials. plants potential as anticancer agent periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus L). The research objective was evaluate effect ethanolic leaf extract against in T47D cells. METHODS An experimental study with controls conducted involving breast They were divided into 3 groups (control, ½ dose IC50/26.849 µg/mL, one IC50/53.699 µg/mL) at cell density 1 x 104 cells/well. Expression measured by immunohistochemistry method. Data analyzed one-way ANOVA followed multiple comparison test. RESULTS Periwinkle significantly increased (p<0.05) both treatment doses, IC50 IC50, compared control group it highly reduced (p<0.01), doses. CONCLUSION has an anti-breast increasing inhibiting expression.
