摘要: Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is one of the major causes morbidity, mortality and hospitalization, S. pneumoniae most frequently isolated etiologic agent. The pneumococcal urinary antigen test (PUAT) among recommended methods to identify causative agent in CAP patients. A novel PUAT (IMMUNOCATCHTMStreptococcus pneumoniae) was compared with Uni-GoldTMS. assay routinely used our laboratory widely BinaxNOW® card. total 218 (183 freshly harvested 35 frozen) urine samples (US) submitted for detection between December 2016 November 2018 were evaluated. number 160 negative 41 positive concordant results scored all three assays. 17 US gave discrepant results. sensitivity specificity Immunocatch Uni-Gold 73.2% 98.8%, respectively, BinaxNOW 97.6% respectively. overall percent agreement (OPA) Cohen’s kappa coefficient resulted 92.2% 0.78%, 98.6% 0.95%, These performances suggest that a useful tool qualitative capsular US.
