摘要: Central nervous system tumors are relatively common in the United States, with more than 40,000 cases annually. Although half of these benign, they can cause substantial morbidity. Malignant primary brain leading death from solid children and third cancer adolescents adults aged 15 to 34 years. Common presenting symptoms include headache, seizures, altered mental status. Whereas magnetic resonance imaging helps define anatomic extent tumor, biopsy is often required confirm diagnosis. Treatment depends on histologic Benign usually curable surgical resection or radiation therapy including stereotactic radiation; however, most patients malignant benefit chemotherapy either at time initial diagnosis tumor recurrence. Metastases remain a frequent morbid complication but frequently controlled surgery therapy. Unfortunately, mortality rate remains high, despite disease control. This article provides an overview current diagnostic treatment approaches for metastatic tumors.
