摘要: Abstract Diminazene aceturate is one of a limited number compounds currently marketed for treatment trypanosomiasis in cattle, sheep and goats. The pharmacokinetics the compound goats suggest that double with diminazene might enhance compound's therapeutic activity. A study was therefore conducted using two clones Trypanosoma congolense, il 3274 IL 1180, which were previously shown to be resistant sensitive, respectively, single aceturate. results indicated that, as compared treatment, at dose 7·2 mg kg−1 bodyweight, either eight or 24 hour intervals, did not greatly activity drug. Furthermore, same drug eliminated infections T congolense when administered hours after infected Glossina morsitans centralis had fed, but failed do so if delayed until detected parasitaemic. This suggests failure respond may due resistance per se.
