摘要: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) may present with increased hepatic fibrosis progressing to end-stage liver disease. No factors that determine increasing and histologically advanced disease have been recognized, thus, biopsy is recommended in all patients for diagnosis prognosis. Our aim was identify independent predictors of severe NASH. One hundred forty-four were studied. All underwent biopsy. Clinical biochemical variables examined univariate multivariate analysis. Thirty-seven (26%) had no abnormal fibrosis, 53 (37%) mild 15 (10%) moderate 14 bridging 25 (17%) cirrhosis. In analysis, older age (P = .001), obesity .002), diabetes mellitus .009), aspartate transaminase/alanine transaminase (AST/ALT) ratio greater than 1 .03) significant (bridging/cirrhosis). Body mass index .003) the only predictor degree fat infiltration. Increased transferrin saturation correlated positively severity .02) there a trend more female among those .09). However, iron studies or gender not when controlled age, obesity, diabetes, AST/ALT ratio. conclusion, presence help NASH who might fibrosis. This subgroup would be expected derive most benefit from having considering investigational therapies.
