摘要: One of the most striking features mammalian chromosomes is variation in G+C content that occurs over scales hundreds kilobases to megabases, so-called 'isochore' structure human genome. This base composition affects both coding and non-coding sequences seems reflect a fundamental level genome organization. However, although we have known about isochores for 25 years, still poor understanding why they exist. In this article, review current evidence three main hypotheses.
