摘要: Abstract A Nylon-6,6 film has been treated using an atmospheric pressure air dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). The resultant surface modifications were studied X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), contact angle measurement and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). oxidation arising in the DBD was found to arise two stages: first stage, creation of carbon sites singly bonded oxygen is dominant, second stage leads further conversion such lightly oxidised carbons those more heavily oxidised. marked increase hydrophilicity post-treatment main believed be associated with earlier outcome. Partial recovery values for samples following extended storage ambient air. final obtained ∼50°, still reduced significantly from that 83.5° untreated material.
