摘要: Propofol is known to possess direct antiemetic effects. Its use for induction and maintenance of anaesthesia has been shown be associated with a lower incidence postoperative nausea vomiting (PONV) when compared any other anaesthetic drug or technique. However, its mechanism action in this context still not well understood. In article, the best ways take advantage propofol's properties are emphasized. The possible effects propofol on cerebral cortex, interactions dopaminergic serotoninergic systems evaluated by clinical basic science results. Finally, advantages disadvantages using decrease PONV practice discussed.
