摘要: The present work reports a successful attempt to produce mixed methyl/ethyl esters from new non-edible oil feedstock, bitter almond oil. was transesterified with different blends of methanol and ethanol (10/90, 20/80, 30/70, 40/60, 50/50 v/v methanol/ethanol), the optimal blend percent found be (30/70 methanol/ethanol). other parameters affecting transesterification reaction alcohols blend, such as concentration type alkali catalyst, alcohol molar ratio, temperature, time, rate stirring were, also, optimized. A biodiesel yield 97.75 wt% purity 97.02 obtained. Thin layer chromatography utilized monitor alcoholysis esters. produced analyzed by 1HNMR spectroscopy results confirmed conversion its corresponding fuel properties prepared were measured within acceptable limits prescribed ASTM D 6751. It concluded that using system for can used alternative method production biodiesel.
