摘要: Abstract The present study reports the production of mustard seed oil ethyl esters (MSOEE) through alkali-catalyzed transesterification with ethanol using potassium hydroxide as a catalyst. influence process parameters such catalyst concentration, to molar ratio, reaction temperature, duration and type was investigated so find out optimal conditions for process. As result, optimum MSOEE were found be: 0.90% KOH wt/wt oil, 8:1 temperature 60 °C, time 60 min. Dry washing method (2.50% wt.) activated carbon that produced from de-oiled cake used purify crude ester residual glycerol. provided yield 94% w/w an content 98.22% wt. under conditions. Properties satisfied specifications prescribed by ASTM standards. Blending petro diesel also investigated. results showed had slight on properties diesel.
