摘要: The granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) regulates neutrophil differentiation and function. Serum levels of G-CSF increase during acute infectious processes. were measured in 59 surgical intensive care unit (ICU) patients. In general, was only elevated the first 2 days after admission to ICU. Higher more frequently observed patients without complications who survived. Later on, below 100 pg/ml almost all studied. highest level (20,000 pg/ml) one patient with septic shock 36 h leukopenia. recovered from multiple organ failure discharged. It is proposed that ICU low or undetectable serum may benefit exogenous substitution protocols.
