摘要: Malaria, once endemic in Canada, is now restricted to imported cases. Imported malaria Canada has not been examined recently the context of increased international mobility, which may influence incidence and autochthonous Surveillance cases can highlight high-risk populations help target prevention control measures. To identify geographic individual determinants Ontario, we conducted a descriptive spatial analysis. We then compared characteristics case-patients controls. Case-patients were significantly more likely be male live low-income neighborhoods that had higher proportion residents who emigrated from malaria-endemic regions. This method’s usefulness clarifying local patterns Ontario shows its potential areas at highest risk for emerging infectious disease.
