摘要: 87Sr/86Sr isotopic analysis was performed on 95 cattle teeth from the Iron Age and Roman rural site of Owslebury (Hampshire). This constitutes one largest strontium (Sr) projects in archaeology first ever dealing with cattle. The Sr signal Middle is consistent a local signature, while Late and, even more so, both phases were introduced to greater variety geographic areas. Although it not possible track down exact origin these cattle, some must have travelled substantial distances (70 km more). widening market illustrated by our study artefactual evidence site, indicating an increase trade Age, which further emphasised period.
