摘要: Conservation planning is integral to strategic and effective operations of conservation organizations. Drawing upon biological sciences, has historically made limited use social data. We offer an approach for integrating data on well-being into that captures places context the spatial patterns trends in human needs capacities. This hierarchical provides a nested framework characterizing mapping 5 domains: economic well-being, health, political empowerment, education, culture. These domains each have multiple attributes; attribute may be characterized by one or more indicators. Through existing novel display temporal heterogeneity scientists, planners, decision makers measure, benchmark, map, integrate these within processes. Selecting indicators iterative, participatory process tailored local goals. Social complement biophysical threat-oriented processes inform decisions regarding where how conserve biodiversity, provide structure exploring socioecological relationships, foster adaptive management. Building methods insights from disciplines, this putting people map can readily merge with current practices facilitate rigorous making.
