摘要: Objective To evaluate the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction and related autoantibodies in patients with primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS), to determine whether these abnormalities develop over time. Methods pSS (n = 137) controls 120) were investigated for presence anti–thyroid peroxidase antibody (anti-TPO) antithyroglobulin (ATG). Followup time was 1–16 years, 72 120 reevaluated 3 years after initial evaluation. Results Thyroid disease more frequent pSS than (30% versus 4%; P < 10-4), as anti-TPO ATG (11% 3%; 0.02, 3% 1%, not significant). Ten 107 euthyroid dropped out study, became apparent at followup 12 remaining 97. Most thyroid-related entry developed autoimmune thereafter. Conclusion Thyroid is patients, those prone disorders are identified by autoantibodies, or rheumatoid factor anti-Ro/SSA activity.
