摘要: Around the Regional Nature Reserve Nazzano-Tevere-Farfa in Central Italy, wild boar ecological and economic impacts have increased over last decade, creating need for an integrated wildlife management approach. Since 2006, park authorities used average of 17 % yearly protected area budget compensation 5 preventive measures. Additionally, 14 boar/km2 were culled 2009. While tools effective reducing species’ impacts, they did not decrease human-wild controversies. To understand reasons behind such conflicts, user opinions toward approaches (i.e., measures, compensation, capture, removal) planned culls) explored. Face-to-face interviews carried out with general public (n = 288), hunters 57), farmers 107) 2009–2010. Differences attitudes measures (χ2(8) 40.35, p < .001), 34.11, capture removal 98.23, culls 77.10, .001) highlighted by Chi-square analysis. The Potential Conflict Index showed that, overall, users supported but culls. Workshops organized 2010 that had considered expectations when planning management. If decision makers want to address go beyond standard tailoring their practices specific social context which work. Effective is only about it also listening people living wildlife.
