Human β-interferon gene expression is regulated by an inducible enhancer element

摘要: We have localized the regulatory sequence required for viral or poly([)-poly(C) activation of human β-interferon gene expression to a region located between −37 and −77 from mRNA cap site. This has characteristics an inducible enhancer element: it can act upstream downstream regardless its orientation, at distances up approximately 1 kilobase normal location. Moreover, this element confer inducibility on heterologous promoter. Further analysis identified minimal 14 base pairs within enhancer. Sequences closely related are present five times 5′-flanking regions both α- genes. The number these elements maximal appears differ in different cell lines.
