摘要: There is no consensual definition for advanced disease concerning non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Advanced often considered to be that longer treatable by local thoracic therapy, radiotherapy or surgery. It includes not only metastatic (stage IV), but also some stage III presentations, such as those with pleural pericardial effusions IIIB) where the tumor cannot included in a single irradiation field (corresponding extensive small cancer). should, however, kept mind physicians have broader of “advanced disease” and include patients more-limited cancer; probably because these consider role chest too ancillary prefer use systematic chemotherapy main treatment. A combination nevertheless today standard care unresectable locoregionally disease, despite fact there so far clear evidence improves survival this situation, comparison alone (Sculier et al. 1999b).
