摘要: Groundwater has long been ranked as a high priority research area by small island nations in the Pacific. It is major source of freshwater on atoll Tarawa (Rep.of Kiribati) and its availability, quality, management allocation are central to atoll?s sustainable development poverty alleviation. From modeling perspective, simulating lens behavior represents challenge, it requires sophisticated numerical models. Such models can hardly fit within an integrated framework taking into account spatially distributed water use (e.g. wells, trees) social interactions. Simple analytical solutions exist but they apply for steady-state conditions, verified only annual basis. Recent advances field Distributed Artificial Intelligence have permitted Multi Agent System (MAS) approach, closely related problem complexity. AtollScape uses MAS techniques simulate atoll. A nested structure used represent local inputs uptakes, along with adjustments 10 day time steps. (Resume d'auteur)
