摘要: Abstract This paper presents a two-dimensional CFD study of the falling film evaporation horizontal tubes with different shapes applied in seawater desalination. The flow and heat transfer characteristics water on one circular tube two non-circular shaped tubes, drop-shaped an oval-shaped tube, are analyzed, respectively. Volume Of Fluid (VOF) method is employed to investigate influence mass rate feeder height distribution thickness performance. numerical results show that minimum value appears approximately at angular positions 125°, 160° 170° for smooth circular, oval- grows increase decrease height, while variation pattern varies tubes. Moreover, compared drop- have lower dimensionless temperature thinner thermal boundary layer, which means better Finally, correlate well experimental predicted data literature.
