摘要: Background/Purpose: Fentanyl is regularly used in clinical anesthesia practice but fentanyl-induced cough (FIC) will sometimes bother anesthesiologists. This study was designed to examine the effect of intravenous (IV) dexamethasone (DEX) on FIC. Methods: Eighty ASA class Ⅰ-Ⅱ patients, aged 18-80 years and weighing 40-90kg, scheduled for elective surgery were given DEX reduce One hundred eight patients from our previous database FIC, after excluding smokers, comprised reference group. All fentanyl (100 μg 40-69kg 150μg 70-90kg convenience) over 2 seconds via proximal port a peripheral Ⅳ line forearm. Patients treatment group received (10 mg, Ⅳ) 5 minutes prior injection, while those injection only without any premedicant. We recorded number coughs each patient 30 injection. Results: The incidence 6.3% 21.3% control group, respectively (p=0.008). However, severity observed not significantly different by pretreatment (p>0.05) or hemodynamic profiles. Conclusion: (10mg, reduces FIC can be an ideal premedicant general induction.
