摘要: The dichroic properties of lutein, presumed to be the macular pigment, are demonstrated and structure Henle fiber membranes is discussed. A consequence pigment molecules being incorporated into bilipid components these shown production Haidinger's brushes. Spectra lutein in association with phospholipid model at different temperatures presented support theory that such incorporation occurs. Additional experiments test an alternative for brushes show it inconsistent spectroscopic lutein.
