Epidemiological and clinical features of hospitalized patients with febrile seizures in Ramadi, West of Iraq

摘要: Prospective study of 169 children with febrile seizures (FS) was carried out from 1 st February 2002 to 30 th January 2003. The proportion patients FS among all admitted 7.6%. mean age 25.8 months, and the peak our 18.19 months. Male female ratio 1.3:1. attacks 23.5 that for recurrent 29.8 temperature attack 39.7.C 38.2.C. There a history prematurely in 13%, family 35% epilepsy 17%. Complex were seen 27% status epilepticus 3%. Upper lower respiratory tract infection cause fever 67% majority them cold months year. Lumbar puncture done 37% patients. commonest anticonvulsant used terminate intravenous diazepam 78.7% followed by rectal 8.9%. Intermittent (45%) most widely prophylaxis, phenobarbital (23%).
