Chelerythrine, a specific PKC inhibitor, blocks acquisition but not consolidation and retrieval of conditioned taste aversion in rat

摘要: Association of the short-term memory gustatory conditioned stimulus (CS) with visceral malaise (unconditioned stimulus, US) in taste aversion (CTA) paradigm takes place parabrachial nuclei (PBN) brainstem. In order to ascertain role protein-kinase C (PKC) during different phases CTA acquisition and retrieval, four experimental series were carried out. Experiment 1, 1 microl 10 mM PKC inhibitor chelerythrine prevented when applied into PBN CS-US interval. 2, necessity activity was tested by prolonging time interval between administration i.p. LiCl. chelerythrine-induced blockade coincided GSTM persistence but not consolidation. 3, saccharin drinking LiCl injection prolonged 120 min. Again, formation it interfered persistence. 4, possibility that is necessary also for retrieval application 5 min before testing. this case, did impair retrieval.
