摘要: The development of a highly effective malaria vaccine remains key goal to aid in the control and eventual eradication this devastating parasitic disease. field has made huge strides recent years, with first-generation RTS,S showing modest efficacy Phase III clinical trial. updated 2030 Malaria Vaccine Technology Roadmap calls for second generation achieve 75% over two years both Plasmodium falciparum vivax, that can prevent transmission. Whole-parasite immunisation approaches combinations pre-erythrocytic subunit vaccines are now reporting high-level efficacy, whilst exciting new blood-stage transmission-blocking components entering development. multi-component multi-stage appears be realistic ambition. This review will cover these developments vaccinology.
