摘要: BACKGROUND Although a series of histopathological criteria have been suggested, the prediction malignant potential gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) is still difficult. The older literature called all smooth muscle or mixed GIST with true tumors. Reports on including homogeneous cases were rare. METHODS We examined 73 GIST, which immunohistochemically positive for c-kit and/or CD34, and mainly focused correlation between mitotic count other clinicopathological features to establish any helpful reproducible parameters indicate be used practically objectively in routine diagnosis GIST. RESULTS results showed that there was statistically significant difference benign groups. Other proposed parameters, such as high cellularity, tumor size > =5 cm, stomach intestinal location, hemorrhage, necrosis, p53 expression Ki-67 labeling index >10%, frequently observed figure. Three patients one figure 50HPF died from metastasis recurrence CONCLUSIONS cellularity should predictors When morphological appear benign, might also practical factor
