摘要: Characteristics of human malignant glioma are excessive proliferation, infiltrative growth, angiogenesis and suppression anti-tumor immune surveillance. Transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), a versatile cytokine, is intimately involved in the regulation these processes. Here, we discuss interactions TGF-β with factors, such as basic fibroblast factor (bFGF), epidermal (EGF) platelet derived (PDGF), metalloproteinases (MMP-2, MMP-9) their inhibitor, plasmin activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), cells, like natural killer T-cells microglia. The differential effects biology outlined emphasis on induction survival advantage for cells by enforced cell migration, invasion, paralysis. By virtue its regulatory immunomodulatory properties, promises to become novel target experimental therapy glioma. Microsc. Res. Tech. 52:401–410, 2001. © 2001 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
