摘要: Abstract The distinctive biological properties of apolipoprotein (apo) A-IV suggest that serum levels this apoprotein should be profoundly and selectively depressed by nutritional modalities totally bypass the intestine. To test hypothesis we have measured lipid in 18 fasting patients receiving total parenteral nutrition a group 31 normal controls. Measurement lipids revealed had significantly higher triglyceride lower cholesterol than were consequence decreases both low-density lipoprotein high-density cholesterol. mean level apo was 15 ± 13 AU/dl, compared with 93 29 AU/dl This difference almost threefold greater differences between A-I, B, or subfractions. Moreover, undetectable 4 who undergone significant small intestinal resection. A trend toward seen resected as those intact Linear regression analysis showed not correlated any parameter either patient control group, exception positive correlation controls only, suggesting synthesis is regulated independently major classes plasma lipoproteins. We conclude are especially sensitive to interruption enteral feeding rapidly fall very low values during prolonged fasting.
