摘要: The incidence of multiple antimicrobial resistance bacteria which cause infections in the intensive care unit is increasing. These include methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant enterococci, penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae cephalosporin quinolone resistant coliforms. More recently, pan antibiotic coliforms, including carbapenems, have emerged. rapidity emergence these antibiotic-resistant organisms not being reflected by same rate development new agents. It is, therefore, conceivable that patients with serious will soon no longer be treatable currently available antimicrobials. Strict management policies surveillance programmes for organisms, together infection control procedures, need to implemented continuously audited. As units provide a nidus other areas within hospitals, this critically important prevention further spread selection bacteria.
