The release of the bermudagrass (Cynodon spp.) triploid hybrid 'Tifgreen' revolutionized southeastern U.S. golf course greens. Off-types within this cultivar began to be identified soon after initial plantings, and through last 50 years, many best performing off-types have been released as new cultivars. Examination some most popular somatic mutants with a set 47 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers 23 previously discovered genomic SSR five polymorphic fragments (as compared 'Tifgreen') among three cultivars, TifEagle, MiniVerde, Tifdwarf. Each polymorphism appears slight increase/ decrease in microsatellite number are unique for each cultivar. Two were that 'Tifdwarf', one fragment was 'TifEagle', two 'MiniVerde'. Furthermore, display anadditional allele only shoottissue butnot root tissue 'TifEagle' 'Tifdwarf'. This finding suggests 'Tifdwarf' chimeras. identifies repeatable polymorphicfragmentsamongmultiple'Tifgreen'-derivedcultivarsand givesinsightintothenature ofthemutations exist 'Tifgreen'.
