摘要: Biomarkers on sentinel organisms are utilised worldwide in biomonitoring programs. However, the lack of effective interpretational capacity has hampered their uptake for use assessment risk environmental management. The aim present study was to develop and test an objective decision-support or expert system capable integrating biomarker results into a five-level health-status index. is based set rules derived from available data responses natural contaminant-induced stress marine mussels. Integration parameters includes: level biological organization; significance; mutual interrelationship; qualitative trends gradient. tested obtained field subsequently validated with previous studies. demonstrate that can effectively quantify effects different levels pollution. represents simple tool harmful impact contaminants by providing clear indication degree syndrome induced pollutants
