摘要: This review was conceived with the aim of presenting a comprehensive account molecular interactions artemisinin class antimalarials and delineating it in context different theoretical models mechanism action. As most rapidly acting schizontocide, its derivatives are forefront battle against malaria parasite. Forty one years after extraction, exact action has not been unequivocally elucidated. Understanding mode could help new drug discovery that would circumvent resistance P. falciparum , present additional simpler tool detecting monitoring spread these resistant mutants by p roviding surrogate marker and, perhaps aid elimination this menace. Artemisinin actions have linked to generation radicals, which damage parasite vital biomolecules alkylation, oxidative stress microenvironment activation. Interference heme-detoxification pathways, abolition mitochondrial inner membrane electropotential, inhibition PfATP6 apoptosis induction all documented as mediating effects. At present, effects appears attract attention. However, picture is incomplete sight should be lost equally strong compelling facts implicating other targets biochemical basis well demonstrated phenomenon quiescence ring forms under pressure.
