摘要: Recent work has implicated the Lateral Habenula (LHb) in production of anxiogenic and aversive states. It is innervated by all major monoamine neurotransmitter systems projections that have been shown to modulate activity both dopaminergic serotonergic brain regions. Cocaine a stimulant drug abuse potentiates neurotransmission these recent research suggests drug's behavioral effects may be related part its actions within LHb. The present was therefore devised test hypothesis alterations serotonin (5-HT) function LHb can affect response cocaine. Male rats were fitted with intracranial guide cannula trained traverse straight alleyway once day for 1 mg/kg i.v. injection Intra-LHb pretreatment 5-HT1B agonist CP 94,253 (0, 0.1, or 0.25 μg/side) attenuated development approach/avoidance "retreat" behaviors known consequence cocaine's dual rewarding (approach) (avoidance) properties. This effect reversed co-administration selective antagonist, NAS-181 (0.1 μg/side), demonstrating specificity at receptor. These data suggest signaling contributes
