Gastrointestinal stromal tumours: correlation of immunophenotype with clinicopathological features.

摘要: Stromal tumours of the gastrointestinal tract remain a persistent source controversy with regard to both their proposed lines differentiation and difficulty in predicting biological behaviour. We have examined 60 cases panel seven antibodies directed at identification smooth muscular or neural differentiation. In our hands, 36 per cent showed (although only 6.6 expressed S-100 protein); 31 appeared muscular; 20 manifested bidirectional differentiation; 13 were negative for all markers used.
