摘要: The availability of CD117 (Ckit) immunohistochemical testing in most hospital laboratories has facilitated the diagnosis GIST cKit positive cases. aim this study was to describe histopathological variations Saudi Arabia. involved analysis paraffin blocks 75 surgically excised and GIST-like stromal tumors obtained from four major referral hospitals Arabia (Riyadh Military Hospital, King Abdulaziz Medical City, Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center Aramco's hospital) between 1998 2009. Patient sex age were noted addition following tumor variables: size, site, histological grade type, profile genetic mutation. stomach commonest site for spindle cell type frequently seen variant. Further sub classification made order recognize morphological pattern tumor. common grades low-risk high-risk groups. There one case familial GISTparaganglioma syndrome youngest subject an 8-year-old girl with gastric GIST. Genetic 34 cases revealed exon 11 mutations all genes.
