摘要: Osteomyelitis due to Coxiella burnetii infection is a rare condition in adults. We report the case of healthy young man presenting with subacute osteomyelitis left cheek bone, evolving gradually after an episode acute febrile illness. Histological evaluation confirmed granulomatous inflammation. Despite antibody titres not reaching standard cut-off for chronic Q fever (phase I IgG 1/160, phase II 1/2560), was radiologically and histologically confirmed. A 6-month course doxycycline/hydroxychloroquine brought clinical radiological cure while various conventional antibiotic treatments had failed improve condition. Currently, at follow-up, no relapse has occurred have declined. shorter than that used may be sufficient treat some cases.
