摘要: The medical records of boys younger than 11 years and girls 10 age with osteosarcoma the pelvis or extremity were reviewed. Thirty patients identified who newly diagnosed but untreated for osteosarcoma. None these had pulmonary metastases. same four protocols used to treat in current study as adolescents. event-free overall survival was calculated prognostic factors assessed. median followup time 8 (range, 6-14 years). results compared older treated published results. Fourteen metastases (47%); among patients, also skeletal (in two latter, appeared before metastases). Event-free 53% 57%. This result is comparable adolescent patients. Serum alkaline phosphatase serum lactic dehydrogenase levels treatment, height percentile greater 50%, chemotherapy-induced tumor necrosis, surgical procedure, site, histologic features, patient gender not indicators. prognosis prepubertal similar their counterparts. There does seem be any indication preadolescent using alternate therapies.
