摘要: The quantitative significance of bacterial biomass in the nutrition detritivores remains equivocal. We have used tritiated thymidine to specifically label stable macromolecules natural assemblages sediment-associated and detritus-associated bacteria. This material was presented isopod (Lirceus sp.) incorporation measured. incorporated roughly 1 ng carbon (mg wet wt.)-1 h-1 from leaf discs about 6 mg-1 sediment. Calculation grazing rate changes cell counts yields rates 2.3–17.9 C h-1. Even maximum rate, which is an overestimate assimilated, represents only 14.7% respired by isopod.
